FIMI Solution for GO and NGO Electrical Steel with Advanced Coatings

To meet increasingly demanding market requirements in processing grain-oriented (GO) and non-grain-oriented (NGO) electrical steel, FIMIGroup has developed a high-precision circular slitting shear designed to ensure perfect cutting performance and total surface protection.

Electrical steel involves sensitive insulating coatings, applied on one or both sides, ranging from 0.5 to 6 microns in thickness. Common examples include Axalta Voltatex 1230 (EC3), Axalta Voltatex 1250 V (EC5), and Rembrantin EB 5350s.

Why Traditional Solutions Are Not Enough

Processing these materials requires high-strength special blades, ceramic spacers, micron-level tolerances and absolute mechanical stability over time.

Traditional double-eccentric systems, with multiple moving parts, cannot guarantee the required precision, especially under thermal or load variations.

FIMI slitting shears guarantee tolerances within a few microns, advanced clearance adjustment systems, mechanical stability independent of thermal expansion, and precision maintained even at operating speeds above 500 m/min.

During assembly and workshop testing, the following parameters are verified:

• Upper and lower shaft concentricity
• Perpendicularity during vertical movement
• Axial gap of upper and lower mandrels
• Radial gap of upper and lower mandrels
