Later this October, FIMIGroup will be exhibiting simultaneously in Europe and North America, joining two major international events for the metalworking industry: EuroBLECH in Hannover and FABTECH in Las Vegas.

Taking place on almost the same dates, the two exhibitions will bring FIMIGroup teams to both sides of the Atlantic, with a shared focus on engineering solutions for demanding coil processing applications.

From heavy-gauge processing to advanced flying-shear technology, visitors will have the opportunity to discover some of the projects and developments currently shaping FIMIGroup’s offering.

At EuroBLECH, FIMIGroup will showcase two different examples of its engineering expertise in coil processing.

A major focus will be the new Heavy Gauge Levelling and Cut-to-Length project developed for JSW Steel in India. The flagship line is engineered to process steel up to 32 mm (1¼”) thick, 2,600 mm (102”) wide and coils weighing up to 55 tonnes, setting a new benchmark for heavy-gauge Cut-to-Length applications.
The line will also integrate in-line ultrasonic defect detection and FIMIGroup’s patented TDDS® – Torque Dynamic Distribution System.

EuroBLECH visitors will also have the opportunity to discover e-Flytronic, FIMIGroup’s latest development for flying-shear drive architecture.

By replacing the conventional flywheel, belt transmission and hydraulic clutch with a simplified electromechanical configuration, e-Flytronic activates the blade drive when required by the cutting cycle. The result is a solution designed to improve drive efficiency and maintainability while reducing the number of components subject to wear.

At FABTECH, FIMIGroup will put the spotlight on heavy-gauge steel processing and one of the most significant projects currently under development by the Group.

JSW Steel has selected FIMIGroup to supply two new Heavy Gauge Levelling and Cut-to-Length lines in India, including a flagship installation engineered to become the world’s largest Heavy Gauge Cut-to-Length line.
Its main processing capabilities include:

• steel thickness up to 32 mm / 1¼”
• strip width up to 2,600 mm / 102”
• coil weight up to 55 t / 60.6 US tons

The project combines large-scale mechanical engineering with advanced process control, in-line ultrasonic inspection and FIMIGroup’s patented TDDS® technology.
