FIMI was founded in Barzanò (Lc) by two brothers, Vittorio and Pompeo Rovelli, driven by the desire to follow the example of their father Emilio, who owned a small mechanical workshop.

Partnership with Sa.Mo.
1988 marks the beginning of a partnership with SA.MO, a company specialised in the design and manufacture of Slitting Lines and related packing lines.

A new agency office was opened in Shanghai to support the increasing number of customers throughout Asia.

Foundation of FMS (Fimi Machinery Shanghai)
FIMI founds FMS (Fimi Machinery Shanghai). FSM starts on-site production of auxiliary machines based on FIMI design and dedicated to Asian customers.

After a long and fruitful partnership, FIMI Spa acquired SA.MO. in 2010.

Meccanica Adda Fer becomes the first shareholder of FIMI Spa through a capital increase. Antonio Pensotti is the new CEO.

A new office was opened in Casalmaggiore (Cr) with the aim of enhancing its offer in the manufacture of plants and machines for the production and finishing of electro-welded tube, with the purpose of becoming a reference player for this type of products as well.
