FIMIGroup's Automation Division is looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join its Electrical Engineering Department
Main responsibilities
Join FIMIGroup Automation division and design industrial systems for global markets!
The successful candidate will be responsible for the complete electrical design of industrial plants, managing projects from development through production support and installation activities. The role includes independently developing electrical schematics and control panels, coordinating junior designers when required, and ensuring compliance with technical standards, project deadlines, and customer specifications.
What you will do
• Design complete electrical systems and control panels.
• Develop electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Perform electrical sizing calculations (power, capacity, panel cooling).
• Define and verify bills of materials.
• Supervise wiring and cable routing activities.
• Provide technical support to production and installation teams.
• Conduct site visits and technical inspections at customer facilities.
• Coordinate and support junior members of the electrical engineering team.
Qualifications and experiences
What we are looking for
Technical Qualifications
• At least 10 years of experience in electrical design, preferably within the industrial machinery or plant engineering sector.
• At least 10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of electrical design software.
• Advanced knowledge of EPLAN is highly appreciated.
• Ability to independently manage complete electrical projects.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic English language skills.

Travel
Occasional short business trips in Italy and abroad may be required for technical inspections and customer support activities.
Contract, Working Hours & Benefits
• National Metalworking Industry Collective Labour Agreement (CCNL Metalmeccanici Industria).
• Position level generally ranging from C3 to B2 depending on experience.
• Salary range: €35,000 – €40,000 gross annual salary, depending on experience.
• Flexible working hours within the 7:00 AM – 6:00 PM time window (8 working hours per day).
• Remote working available only in exceptional circumstances.
