JSW Steel, one of the world’s leading steel producers, has selected FIMIGroup for the supply of two new Heavy Gauge Levelling and Cut-to-Length lines in India.

The order represents a major strategic investment in heavy gauge processing and confirms FIMIGroup’s position as a trusted technology partner for global steel leaders.

The first line will be the world’s largest Heavy Gauge Cut-to-Length line, designed to process steel up to 32 mm (1.25″) thickness, with a maximum width of 2600 mm (102″) and coil weights up to 55 ton (60.6 tons).

This flagship installation will integrate in-line ultrasonic defect detection to ensure maximum quality control throughout the processing cycle.

Alongside this project, JSW Steel has also awarded FIMIGroup a second Cut-to-Length line capable of processing material up to 25.4 mm (1″) thickness.

Both lines will be equipped with FIMI’s proprietary and patented TDDS® (Torque Dynamic Distribution System), ensuring optimal torque distribution across all levelling rolls, eliminating roll-strip sliding, improving surface quality, extending roll lifetime and reducing energy consumption.

The project is currently in the engineering phase, with delivery scheduled for the first half of 2027.
