Open Profile Production Lines
FIMI’s open profile production lines have a production range of up to 1.750 mm profile widths for thicknesses from 0.25 to 12.0 mm for the following materials:
- hot-rolled carbon steel.
- cold-rolled carbon steel.
- pickled and/or galvanised steel.
- stainless steel.
- high strength steel;
- pre-painted steel.
- aluminium.
- copper.
The profiling units can be of traditional type or with interchangeable shafts and modules (cassettes). The cutting units can be operated either in start-stop or on the fly continuously.
The lines can be equipped with pre-drilling systems, start-stop type, managed by feeding systems, or by the flying type.
The unloading and packing units can handle lengths from 500 to 15.000 mm and the production speed can vary from 2 to 50 m/mindepending on the type of products.

Know-How

The lines that produce open profiles are similar to the electro-welded tube mills. Based on the experience made through the company SVM Srl acquired in 2011, FIMI can supply lines to produce open profiles (C-U-Z-Sigma-etc…) or guard-rail with 2-3 waves with related stake or special profiles.
These lines share the know-how of steel metal forming, used also for the electro-welded tube mills.
These lines are integrated with flying shears made with hydraulic shears and special cutting dies able to perform even burr-free cuts.
The production is integrated with handling and packing systems like tube devices.
