Open Profile Production Lines

FIMI’s open profile production lines have a production range up to profilable widths of 1,750 mm for thicknesses from 0.25 to 12.0 mm for the following materials:

• hot-rolled carbon steel;
• cold-rolled carbon steel;
• pickled and/or galvanized steel;
• stainless steel;
• high-strength steel;
• pre-painted steel;
• aluminum;
• copper.

The profiling units can be of traditional type or with interchangeable shafts and modules (cassettes). The cutting units can be operated either in start-stop or on the fly continuously.

The lines can be accessorized with both start-stop and on-the-fly pre-drilling and pre-cutting units, operated by feed systems.

Unloading and packing units can handle lengths from 500 to 15,000 mm, and production speeds can vary from 2 to 50 m/min depending on the type of products.

Facilities similar in nature to the electrowelded tube lines are the lines for producing open profiles. Building on the experience gained from the company SVM Srl absorbed in 2011, FIMI is able to supply lines for producing open profiles (C-U-Z-Sigma, etc…) or 2-3 wave Guard-Rail with related post or special profiles.

These lines share the know-how of sheet metal forming, which is also used for electrowelded pipe lines. These are joined by specialties such as flying shears made with hydraulic shears and ad-hoc stamping dies capable of performing even burr-free cuts.

Handling and packaging systems similar to tube devices complete the production.
